Ok, here's where I admit I'm one in 1,000 that has succeeded in the business with my site iGuide. But here's the real meat: I get 300,000 monthly unique visitors, and make a pretty average "salary." Do the math, there are too many iPhone apps, and too many travel websites, and not enough people to pay them all. Not sure making an iPhone app, or even a travel website, or anything else so trendy is a good idea. iPhone app developers are struggling, as are web developers in overcrowded areas like travel.
